16.5 Weeks!

So its been about two weeks since I've blogged, I'm slackin, I know. But I have to say, now that I'm in my second trimester, I'm definately feeling a lot better! We've been so busy lately! Dallas has been roping more, and now that its getting hot, we've been taking our boat out! That has been so much fun! Dallas has never been around boats, he grew up in practically a desert where the closest lake was 3+ hours away. Well, I love the water. We had a boat so I spent a lot of time on the river and the lake in the summer. So when we bought our house the people that were selling the house also were selling their boat. Dallas wasn't convinced we needed that boat, but decided we'd get it and see how much we used it and go from there. Well, it was october when we bought our house so we didnt get to take it out in the fall. We winterized it and put it in the garage all winter. Last weekend it was finally warm enough to take it out, so one of Dallas's friends came over and helped him figure some stuff out on it and off to the river we went! It ran like a top! We had no problems at all! I was so excited. So this past saturday we decided to take it out again with my brothers, my sister in law and Caleb's fiance. We unloaded the boat in the water and everything was fine, about 5 minutes later the tilt on the prop quit working. We pulled it up to a sandbar and tried to fix it. My brothers arent really boat machanics but know quite a bit about stuff like that. Well, it turns out it was an electrical problem. They couldnt fix that so we just jimmy rigged it and went on with the day! Caleb and Nathan water skiied, and Dallas attempted. He did prety good, I'm sure the next trip he'll get the hang of it! I wanted to water ski so bad, but my OB had already told me that wasnt a good idea, so I just enjoyed watching them! My dad being an electrician was able to fix the boat when we got home. We took it out again yesterday with some friends, and it ran just fine! Dallas is starting to get the hang of being a boat captin and has decided the boat purchase was a good one!

With Baby Shep on the way we had been thinking more seriously about getting rid of my lexus and getting something else. I had a Lexus RX 330, which is a small SUV. It was plenty roomy for us, but it the back seats are really slanted for "comfort" and it didn't have the car seat hooks. Any time I put my neice's car seat in there it set at too much of an angle and wouldn't fasten tight enough. My car was getting close to 100,000 miles on it so we wanted to get rid of it before it got there. I had been looking at the new ford explorers for almost 2 years, I knew thats what I wanted I just hadn't test drove one or priced them seriously. So last friday we went car shopping. We thought we were just going to look.... but, we came home with:

2013 Limited Ford Explorer

I stole this from a friends blog. When she was pregnant she updated her blog each week with this little format. It was neat to see the changes and I'm sure it will be nice to have these weekly changes documented!

How Far Along: 16 1/2 Weeks! Baby Shep is the size of an Avacado!

Total Weight Gain: Our scale has been broken for about a week, but last week my weight was up about 2 lbs, although I feel like I've gained much more!

How I'm Feeling This Week:  I'm feeling pretty doggone good! Finally! I'm not hugging the toilet everyday anymore, so thats been nice! I'm back to eating normal, which I was super excited about. I still haven't been able to eat anything with avacados though... I loved avacados pre-pregnancy, I'm not sure if I'll ever be able to eat them again.

Cravings: Salad! I'm constantly eating a salad with every meal. If we go out to eat, I always order a side salad to go with my meal! I just can't get enough salad!!! Oh and Lemon on Ice! Those cravings keep coming and going.

Doctors Appointment: I have an appointment next week I think... hmm, I should check on that! But then the anatomy scan appointment is in 3 1/2 weeks. Thats when would could find out if Little Shep is a boy or a girl. But, I think we're still team green. We probably won't be finding out!

How I'm Changing: Well... I tell Dallas I feel like a cow. And I know if I feel like that now, I'm in for a rude awakening when I actually get huge. I havent gained but 2 pounds, but my jeans will hardly button. None of my bathing suits fit, tops or bottoms. A week ago, I was fine wearing my normal clothes, but this week, its miserable. I don't know how my belly has changed so much in a week! I took a picture in a bathing suit last week and then again this week. Its like I woke up one morning with this akward shaped belly. Rediscovering a new body each day is a very strange thing to get used to, and I'd imagine it on intesnifies as the weeks go on... Tomorrow, mom only has to work half a day so we are going to Evansville to get this girl some clothes that fit!
