With this being the start of a brand new year, I thought now would be a wonderful time to get back to bloggin! And...I've been told more than once, I'm a terrible blogger! My last blog was in the middle of August... Dallas and I have been so busy since then!
We bought a house and a little farm in September and have been busy making it "home" since then! We have changed so much about the house that it is finally starting to feel like 'ours'. We have painted every single room, gutted a bathroom, ripped out most of the trim and baseboards and put in new, put up a wall to make a new room, and added a covered back porch :) In the middle of all this we've been busy with other things too! Dallas has been very busy ropin. We went to Franklin TN to a ropin in October and Dallas won 1st & 3rd place. In November we went to Memphis TN to a ropin. The moring of the ropin we got a phone call from Dallas's mom's side of the family. His aunt, that had been battling cancer since our wedding, had passed away. She fought long and hard and we have peace to know she is in a better place no longer suffering. We flew out to Phoenix to go to her funeral and came home the next day. A few days later we left to make our trip to Oklahoma to Dallas's dads for Thanksgiving. We stayed there a few days then went to Kansas for one night to see our friends from there. It was so nice to see everyone again but it was nice to get back home after being on the road so much! The second weekend in December was a big ropin in Tunica Mississippi. I wasn't going to be able to go because I had just taken off work so much with all our traveling. So Dallas went with some friends. He entered the #13 prelim with a guy he had met down there and they won! They won a little bit of money and a buckle. He was thrilled with that so they entered the #13 Shootout for the big money... well... they won that too!!! So he came home with 2 buckles, a pocket knife, a coat, and a little over 15 grand! I was so thrilled but so bummed I didn't get to be there to see all of this! Everyone has asked "Oh, what are yal going to do with all the money?!" Well... since we just bought a house and have student loans and other bills... we just payed on those. How fun it is to be an adult!!!
Dallas's dad was able to come stay with us for a little over a week during Christmas. We were so blessed to get to spend the holiday with him! Dallas kept him busy working out in the barn the whole time he was here, I think he was glad to get back home to rest! We had such a wonderful Christmas! We had a few friends over for new years and really enjoyed that too!! Now that the holidays are over I hope to get our house back in shape and get busy finishing up the last few things our house needs! I'll post pics later of all the new things we've been doing :)
