Last thursday Dallas and I embarked on our journey east... He had a truck pulling a horse trailer full of our stuff and I drove my car full of stuff. About 2 hours into our trip it started raining pretty hard. I could barely see where I was going so I called Dallas to see if he thought we should pull over and wait it out as other cars were doing, he said no, that if he stopped we had more chance of the rain getting into the trailer and getting on all of our things! So I decided if he was going to keep on driving, I was too. The rain got harder and the wind blew harder and branches were flying across the road. I turned on the radio to find there were severe thunderstorm and tornado warnings out. Great. I called my dad to check the radar, and got more good news, the storm wasnt going to let up any time soon, however, we were on the outside edge of the big red blob on the radar. It was comming with us. My dads advice was to high tail it out of there and get enough in front of it to keep from it catching up with us again. I might as well have driven with my eyes closed. That was the absolute worst hour drive out of that storm I've ever been in. At one point I just started crying and praying. I thought it was going to be the end of us. But thankfully, soon later I could see the sun and the rain drops eased up. The rest of the drive was fine. It took us a little over 13 hours but we made it to my parents house safe and sound Thursday evening. Our dogs were so happy to see us, I bet we were just as happy too. I never want to go that long without seeing them again! 2 months is too long! We unpacked the horse trailer into a storage unit for the time being until we find a house. I start my job next monday and Dallas has had several job offers, he hasn't decided on anything for yet, so we'll see what happens :)
Oh yeah... I took my Registry Exams and passed them :)
One more exam left, the Neonatal & Pediatric Specialty Exam!

Falling into Place :)
Over the past couple years I've dreamed of the day things would finally start to fall in place, and they finally are! Last tuesday Dallas and I went to Wichita to stay the night so I could get up the next morning and take a Respiratory Therapy Exam. Wichita has the closest testing center, but its still like 3 and a half hours away so we stayed the night the night before my exam. Tuesday evening we were getting ready to go eat when my cell phone rang. St. Marys in Evansville Indiana called and offered me a job! I couldn't have been happier! I had interviewed with them awhile ago and had decided it was one of my top picks for future employment. They have everything I want to do there! They have a neonatal intensive care, a transport team, and they do life flight! I was so excited so I accepted the job. It was only a part time job but the lady told me in the near future it could turn into full time! I was so excited that I could barely go to sleep that night! The next morning I got up to go take my exam. I was so nervous! I took my 3 hour exam, then clicked finish. Before I could view my results I had to take a 20 question survey. Talk about nerve racking, who in their right ming could answer those questions honestly, I clicked yes on every one and just wanted to see my results! Then it pops up on the screen that the receptionist will have them printed at her desk. I go to the front dest to get my results and as they are printing I asked her if I wanted to see them or not. She looked at them, said she had no clue and handed them to me. The first word I saw said CONGRATULATOINS! I gave the lady a huge hug! She must have thought I was nuts! Later in the week I checked my email and got an email from another hospital, another job offer :) Also for a part time job! I haven't accepted it yet, but I'm hoping to work both part time jobs until I can get on full time. I start the job at St Marys Aug 22nd! I couldn't be happier with how things are going!
