Finally, the day I had been waiting for was here!
Graduation!!! I was soooo excited to finally put on my cap and gown and walk across that stage to receive that empty diploma folder! haha. Yes, the folder was empty, but it was still a good day! The school mails the diplomas, and since our respiratory therapy class has to do an 8 week critical care rotation in Lubbock this summer, we wont actually get our diplomas until July 31st. But, graduation still meant a lot to us. It meant we actually made it! We started the program off with 24 Respiratory Therapy students, and saturaday, there were only 11 Respiratory Students in the program to graduate. This meant we were one of the 11 students that set through all the long classes, took the aweful tests, and drove a million miles to clinicals every week. We had made it through all of that, and that was exciting enough! I can remember two years ago setting in class thinking to myself how in the world am I ever going to make it through this! It seemed near to impossible! But, I made it!!! And it probably has to do a lot with my clinical partner. If it weren't for her, I dont know how in the world I'd made it through all the the getting up at 2am to drive over 3 hours away to work for free for the day, and the tests that nobody ever made an A on. We kept each other motivated and we made it!!! So maybe we didn't get out diplomas just yet, but, we're done with the class work that we thought would never end! We passed our classes and now we'll pack our bags and head to Lubbock Texas for 2 months! And then WE ARE DONE WITH SCHOOL and we can TAKE OUR BOARDS! and thats
exciting!
